There was a post I read from one lady who had laid claim to becoming a part of the juicing revolution that was, quite literally, a little messy. You see, she was complaining bitterly about how much mess prepping and making fruit and vegetable juice cocktails on her marbled kitchen top was turning out to be. An entirely messy affair. There were tales, horrid ones, of how she abhorred having to clean up the mess after she and her husband had finished making their juices. There was also a concern on this couple’s part on how much a part of their lives juicing was taking in their lives. Now, does this sound as though they are really into juicing. Or are they perhaps just completely clueless, like I was, once upon a time.
Anyway, from what I’ve managed to gather today, you really do not need to be a culinary expert or experienced nutritionist with the requisite passion to learn how to start juicing in next to no time. Now, if you’ve been like me in the past, never seeming to have done anything useful with himself or been practical with his hands do not fear. Never mind the odd couple of earlier, because learning the ropes where juicing is concerned has never been easier. It’s also almost about motivation. Just how far you want to go with this new enterprise. And while you’re really raring to go, pumped up and all, there’s not even a need to push yourself to the limit in pressurizing yourself to come up with the best juice cocktails known to mankind.
This is not a competition on juicing for weight loss or coming up with a new juicing solution for a serious mental illness. It is about your personal weight loss but it’s also your personal journey. Whether you choose to share your journey with a significant other, or with us, or, as was the case in the beginning with me, keep the personal benefits and emotional experience of shedding pounds to yourself, is entirely up to you. Now, as I said, it’s also about motivation. It’s about passion and conviction too. And, yes, you can conjure up a passion fruit cocktail with vegetables included.
See, this is how far the benefits of juicing have taken me on my own personal journey. While I’m thinking how to combine a variety of different squashes, all tasting different, into one unique blend, either naturally sweetened or spiced up, I’m still thinking how to enhance what has now become to me the bland combination of tomato, celery and organic black pepper without straying from tradition. Not only am I becoming a little stronger every day, I’m becoming more creative by the day. Ironically, as your body and mind is cleansed through juicing, you tend to become more organized in everyday life, but its organization that is needed now, before you start juicing to make it an absolute success for the long term.
Long before you begin easy planning and prepping, without any mess or fuss, have you sat down and had a heart to heart with yourself, going over the pros and cons of juicing, and have you gone through reams of material related to juicing, juice cleansing or fasting. Have you also done some reading on the intricate nature of fasting? And have you had a look at what the process of detoxification clearly entails. All this and more, can you now full justify going green and juicy. If you have decided to become part of the juice revolution, then welcome aboard. And rest assured, it won’t be a bumpy ride. In fact, it will be rather smooth, if you don’t mind me saying so.
If you’ve well and truly responded to the previous paragraph in the affirmative, then you could well and truly be ready for a lifetime of fun and games in your kitchen creating new juice recipes that the great Jack Lalanne or even Arnold Schwarzenegger would be proud of. A lot of people are still fretting over what to buy and so forth. No doubt, the lovely couple that opened this blog post were part of that throng. But really, there really is nothing to it. Elsewhere, even in this very blog, a brief list of what you need to start the engines of your juicing revolution is easily dispatched.
Your juicer, your knife, your jugs, and your storage containers. H’mm, something’s missing. Oh yes, that’s right, your fruit and vegetables. Don’t forget those recipe books too. For the first few months of your juicing enterprise I believe you may need them. I’m still finding it difficult at times to fully grasp what or why goes in where. It’s not so much what ingredients must go in the juicing jug and how they must be processed. It’s more a case of understanding why you’re doing what you’re doing. It’s a case of understanding the full value of each and every fruit and vegetable that goes under the knife on your kitchen table top.
Finally, let me have a quick chat about one of my favorite vegetables. The experts say that best juices for weight loss regimes must include tomatoes. I will always agree that they are indeed delicious. They are juicy, firm or soft but never unmanageable and therefore easy for the juicing jug. And, of course, they are rich in antioxidants which are also beneficial for reducing harmful effects of inflammation and fluid retention in the body. It controls your appetite and regulates your body’s metabolism. And it’s also a good source of natural fibers.
In juicing parlance, the, let’s just say, evergreen red tomato acts as a natural diuretic that helps to flush out excess fluids from the body. I was having fun pushing you into believing that getting going with your juicing exercises can be achieved in next to no time. Getting there in double quick time will also depend on how enthusiastic you are too.
